A Day Out in Gadiara
We visited Gadiara just to
spend some quality time near the river bank of Rupnarayan which was really worth
it. Gadiara is a very nice and popular weekend tourist spot, located in the
meeting point of River Hooghly, River Damodar and River Rupnarayan.
It was a very hot day but still we travelled by local train from Howrah to Bagnan; then moved towards Gadiara via Shyampur through Auto service. The Auto service is very frequent and cheap considering the distance and is available from early morning to till 7 in the evening.

We spent the whole day at Gadiara. As it was
too hot, we had to stay in a hotel room till 3.30 pm. Then we moved to the
"MOHONA" (the meeting point of three rivers mentioned above) when the sky suddenly became cloudy and the beauty of river was
mesmerizing.
The "MOHONA"
We experienced the rain and the storm at the riverside and it was very soothing after the hot sunny day. One can easily spend a night at Rupnarayan Tourist Guest House or "Morsel Guest House" (the most reliable and budgeted hotel with quality food) and that must be booked before hand because of the weekend tourist pressure.
These two Guest houses offer a beautiful lawn, garden, car parking the river facing balconies, televisions, Air Conditioning, hot water geysers, 24-hr electricity, nice comfy beds and all other facilities required for a comfortable stay.
One can also visit "Geokhali" by ferry service from Gadiara to experience the water ride & the scenic beauty. The best time to visit is in Rainy season or in winter.
Idling along the river bank and taking lazy village walks are the best things to do here.
How to Reach Gadiara :
